I’m a Franco-Irish author who writes from a cottage deep in the Hampshire countryside in England.

You might know my novel Behind Closed Doors, or more recently When I Kill You, both stories driven by obsession, secrets and the quiet tensions beneath everyday life.

With nine million editions of my eight novels sold, my books have found readers all over the world and have been translated into more than 40 languages. One of my novels, The Breakdown, was recently adapted for film as Blackwater Lane.

B.A. Paris

I lived in France for most of my adult life and before becoming an author, I worked in Finance as a trader before retraining as an English teacher. My husband and I ran a language school together while bringing up our five daughters. It was only after I turned 50 that I started writing.

As a writer of psychological thrillers and domestic suspense, I’m inspired by things that happen in my day-to-day, by people I’ve known and people I meet. My imagination then goes into overdrive and, before I know it, a story comes to life on the page.

At the moment, I’m writing my next psychological thriller. Stay tuned for a (huge) update coming soon by signing up to my newsletter or by following me on social media @baparisauthor
