I’m a Franco-Irish author who writes psychological thrillers and domestic suspense from a cottage deep in the Hampshire countryside in England.
You might know my first novel Behind Closed Doors, the book that started it all, or my latest release When I Kill You, both stories driven by obsession, secrets and the dark undercurrents beneath everyday life.
With nine million copies of my eight novels sold, my books have found readers all over the world and been translated into more than 40 languages. They’ve appeared on the New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller lists and my second book, The Breakdown, was recently adapted for film as Blackwater Lane, now available to stream.
B.A. Paris
I lived in France for most of my adult life and before becoming an author, I worked in Finance as a trader before retraining as an English teacher. My husband and I ran a language school together while bringing up our five daughters. It was only after I turned 50 that I started writing — proof that it’s never too late!
As a writer of psychological thrillers and domestic suspense, I’m inspired by things that happen in my day-to-day, by people I’ve known and people I meet. My imagination then goes into overdrive and, before I know it, a story comes to life on the page. I love a story that keeps you guessing right until the final page, and I hope my books do exactly that.
At the moment, I’m writing my next psychological thriller. Stay tuned by signing up to my newsletter or by following me on Instagram and Facebook @baparisauthor.
